Demi started his banking career on the Graduate Scheme at the Bank of Cyprus working up to a Corporate Relationship Manager with responsibility for a debt book of £100m. In January 2011 he left to set up a small brokerage firm before being headhunted by Metro Bank to work in their newly established Real Estate team. He then moved to PIA Financial Group as a self-employed broker before setting up Hydra Capital Finance in July 2020.

PANNY ANTONIOU
Managing Director
Panny, our Co-Manging Director, began his banking career over 25 years ago at the Cyprus Popular Bank. Having undertaken his pupillage in various departments, the traditional banking apprenticeship, he was made a relationship manager in 2003, the bank having recognised his strength in a client-facing role and problem-solving abilities.
From managing and assisting a large client base he was able to help the bank grow their asset base before the banks closure in 2013. This led him to Metro Bank, which was on its own upward trajectory where he helped them grow their North London presence as one of the first Relationship Directors in the team.
He departed the bank in 2018 to join a local brokerage firm and set up Hydra Capital with Demi in September 2020.

SOTIRIS SHANGOLIS
Associate
With over 20 years of experience in the financial sector, Sotiris is a seasoned banking professional who has spent his professional life guiding and encouraging his customers, building strong relationships, and earning a reputation for his honesty, commitment and professionalism.
Having gained his MBA in Finance from Imperial College he has worked in front-line retail, commercial and corporate banking within various size of financial institutions successfully delivering on trading and real estate deal sizes from £250k to £35m.
Sotiris is a skilled trained negotiator, and a logical thinker with experience in helping clients make well-informed decisions.
Coming from a humble East London background, he is proud of his ethnic roots, being both amiable and approachable has allowed Sotiris to build strong links within the finance industry.

MICHAEL CONSTANTINOU
Client Manager
Michael began his banking career at the Bank of Cyprus (London) Ltd in 2001 on the graduate trainee scheme working his way up to an Associate Director. Here he managed a number of clients across many types of financial requirements.
In July 2011, he transferred to the Bank of Cyprus in Nicosia, Cyprus where he worked in the Custody & Trust team until 2016 when he left voluntarily. In April 2018 he began working for the property development company Nibitto Consulting Limited, again in Nicosia before leaving to return to the UK in the summer of 2020. Since March 2021 he has been with us here at Hydra Capital where he looks after a multitude of clients.

NICOLAS SHIAMISHIS
Analyst
Nicolas is our student analyst and assists when he is not studying at Reading university or playing football.
He maintains a keen interest in real estate matters and having some work experience working with Colliers he is able to provide the team at Hydra with information and comparable evidence on many of the assets considered for lending purposes.
Always willing to learn we appreciate his help when available and is always good to have a youngster to help us ‘experienced’ members with the current lingo!
